At WPS Commercial, we are well known among contractors, property managers, and building owners in the St. Louis and surrounding area as the Waterproofing Specialists because we are the indisputable leaders in the domain of pressurized injection services for concrete foundation crack repair. We have graduated from residential and now are exclusively commercial, with skills that go unmatched.
All of our crew members are specialists in both epoxy crack injection and polyurethane injection for many different reasons. Here are just a few:
- We use the latest technologies and techniques;
- We use customized equipment that they are highly trained on;
- We can and will use a variety of epoxies and polyurethanes that are sure to fit your project best.
Our team members undergo a rigorous and extensive training before they become superintendents and injection technicians. The truth is, some of the other St. Louis industry leaders call WPS to do their commercial project repairs in situations that they just can’t seem to achieve.
With more successful injections behind us than we can count, we have proven to the commercial world that we are able to handle the foundation cracks that need attention on their buildings. You can trust WPS Commercial with your project, too.
What is a foundation crack injection?
Crack injection involves concrete crack repair and waterproofing techniques which are only applicable to poured concrete foundations and structures. Crack injections are used in the following applications:
- To repair concrete cracks of virtually any size in poured concrete foundation walls/structures;
- To permanently repair actively leaking foundation cracks;
- To repair foundation cracks that have been previously repaired by injection or another type of failed waterproofing technique;
- To repair any cracking that occurs in poured concrete structures in general.
How do injections work to fix concrete cracks in commercial foundations?
Crack injections involve the pressurized injection of either epoxy or polyurethane resin into a concrete structure foundation crack (also known as epoxy and urethane crack injections). The multiple injection pressures make sure that cracks are filled all the way through the entire thickness of the wall with the material, which effectively eliminates the crack and keeps water on the exterior of the foundation where it belongs so that you no longer have water in your basement. This type of concrete crack repair is essentially all you need to accomplish waterproofing when a concrete crack is leaking, or if you think an existing crack may leak in the future. Most concrete cracks can be injected, and they do not have to show signs of leaking for them to be repaired. Pressurized injections are the most economical way to repair a concrete structure crack.

Epoxy Injections
Epoxy crack injections are an effective and incredibly reliable concrete crack repair method, used solely for the purpose of repairing poured concrete foundation cracks in a structural sense, to fix basement leaks, and to prevent poured concrete foundation cracks from leaking in the future. When used under the correct circumstances in conjunction with being performed by trained technicians, an epoxy injection will rarely fail.
Engineers are known to recommend epoxy crack injections for the structural repair of cracked concrete in structures such as highway overpasses and overhead concrete structures; this is due to the tremendous bond strength the epoxy has. While epoxy crack injections are not as versatile as polyurethane crack injections, the use of epoxy is nonetheless a very effective means of repairing concrete cracks and preventing potential concrete crack leaks. With this crack repair method, WPS Commercial can accomplish several objectives at the same time. We are waterproofing the area of the injection, we are structurally repairing the concrete crack, and we are preventing the possibility of any potential leaks from the same repaired crack down the road..
How Does WPS Commercial Perform Epoxy Crack Injections
This type of injection is performed from the interior of the structure, which avoids the need for excavating at the exterior of the foundation. The injection is a low pressure injection of epoxy resin through injection ports installed along the length of the crack. These ports adhere to the wall by using an epoxy paste, and that paste is applied over the entire length of the foundation crack itself. This paste also serves as a barrier to confine the epoxy within the foundation crack so that the epoxy injected, stays within the crack and does not seep out.
The injected epoxy typically cures within a few hours and bonds the two sides of the crack together in addition to filling the crack through the entire thickness of the foundation wall. The epoxy also seals the crack permanently to prevent any water penetration from either side of the wall. Epoxy is said to exceed the strength of the concrete itself. This particular injection increases the overall tensile strength of the wall, thus making epoxy injections considered a structural repair.
