Silo Post-Tensioning
It is common for silos to develop vertical cracking and wall separation due to overstress of the horizontal reinforcing wall called post-tensioning. WPS Commercial is incredibly experienced in repairing these issues, as they are the most common among silo repair. To solve this issue, WPS Commercial installs bi-directional carbon fiber straps, which are known to be stronger than steel, rust resistant and do not breakdown or decay over time. These straps are installed around the wall exterior, and essentially can replace the original steel designed to reinforce it. So long as the concrete is still structurally sound and in good condition, the silo can be restored to its original load capacity.
